The E.M.I.S. is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to prompt the Chinese traditional arts and to enrich the culture life of the Chinese Mandarin community. Membership in the E.M.I.S. is comprised of the individuals who are enthusiastic to assist and are concerned about the new immigrants from China and the benefit of New Chinese Immigrant Community in Edmonton.

经多方反馈，我们普通话移民协会的圣诞晚会给大家留下很好的印象。尤其是当时大家拿起话筒就能唱歌印象很深。所以大家就说我们是不是在周末搞搞业余唱歌活动，一来让漫长严寒的冬天好过一点，结识一些有共同爱好的朋友；二来，也是让大家对我们协会增加交流的机会和认识的渠道。现在我们添置了音响话筒，加上福州工会的场地，初步条件应该是成熟了。大家年龄背景相仿，熟悉的歌曲也差不多。如果大家喜欢，以后我们可以定期举行。唱的高兴了，我们就出去到正规歌厅去唱。时机成熟了，我们还可以设 karoke比赛，每次选出前两名，进入月赛；之后在进入季度、年度比赛。最重要一点是：休闲娱乐。
